Jo-Ann Rosa has developed a style of her own which you can see apparent today. She calls this Abstract Realism because it is real enough that you can make out what the subject is. It is Abstract because it is done with emotional color and brush strokes that are being created by an intuitive energy to convey the emotion of the experience on canvas.
There is a sense of an escaped reality to her work where the viewer is transported to a different place, colors become brighter and perspective deeper.
Jo-Ann feels that art should be it's own reality and not an imitation of something outside itself.
